Thanks Jonathan - and totally agree, although thankfully those breaches are few and far between. Aside from mind blowing breaches such as this - I do wonder how many times E&O policies have been called on - it would be great now. I would like to have more transparency around the subject...
Thanks Nick. And I think you have hit the nail on the head - who is going to bring meaningful reform to the industry so it can compete? Isnt that the job of bodies such as PACT to raise these issues?
Quite Jonathan! And a smashing couple of articles Ed. TV is in such a mess! But who's going to make these reforms happen? How could a PSB where government input was needed? Can you see Labour signing up to what they would undoubtedly regard as your 'riskier' model, that's if they had the bandwidth to take it on. In their minds not a priority I'm sure.
Great piece and I agree with you. But what staggers me, even with all the regulations in place there are still massive breeches. The recent war zone documentary the BBC had to pull after it emerged the 13-year-old narrator was the son of a Hamas official, a fact not disclosed to viewers. The corporation admitted “serious flaws,” apologised, and Ofcom is now investigating whether audiences were misled. I mean really?
This is fantastic.

Great piece. Just fyi, it is Jimmy Kimmel, not Fallon
Good spot! I’ll change!
